RURAL LIFE

One of the nicest aspects of our current tour of India comes with the opportunities provided on occasion to get off the bus and mingle with the local Indian population.

On our way to Agra a couple of days ago, for example, we stopped to watch a potter at work.

Today we watched two water buffalo haul water to the surface from a VERY deep roadside well; passed by morning vegetable markets in the midst of busy rural villages; kept an eye out for cell phone towers, tractors, monkeys and sacred cows, goats and camels.

Over the days we’ve seen lots of temples and tombs and deserted mountain top ruins as well, helped grind corn into meal; watched laborers hard at work; and met lots and lots of really friendly people.
